"Our Bountiful Fields" is the theme of the fifth annual Taste of Lawrenceville scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 10, from 4 to 8 p.m. The event, to benefit Lawrenceville Main Street (LMS), will offer a tasting of seasonal delicacies from Lawrenceville eateries and local farms as well as a tasting of wines from Renault Winery.
This year’s Taste will be held in the Abbott Dining Center of the Lawrenceville School and reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering the community’s social, cultural, and economic development. The event also is made possible through the generous support of Radiology Affiliates Imaging.
Guests at the Taste will enjoy an evening of eclectic dining and music by Riverside, a local band with multiple ties to Lawrenceville. The group features alternative country music (also known as Americana), a contemporary style with roots in bluegrass and Celtic fiddle tunes.
This year’s participating eateries are Acacia, Chambers Walk Cafe, Enzo’s La Piccola Cucina, Leonardo’s Restaurant, Vidalia Restaurant, Elements of Asia, Maidenhead Bagel Company, Village Bakery, The Purple Cow, Cherry Grove Farms, and Terhune Orchards.
The following local farms also will contribute by partnering with participating eateries: Cherry Grove Organic Farm; Gravity Hill Farm; Griggstown Quail Farm; Z Food Farm; and Village Farms.
In creating delicacies for the Taste, chefs will incorporate the harvest from participating area farms. Local food businesses have long been committed to featuring farm-fresh ingredients in their menus. Their loyal support has helped sustain a thriving local farm community whose practices help to preserve the environment. This year’s theme "Our Bountiful Fields" celebrates this partnership.
The ticket price for the Taste is $45 per person. Tickets are available at the Lawrenceville Main Street Office, 17 Phillips Ave., or by placing a telephone order to (609) 219-9300. Tickets also may be purchased at the Village Bakery, 2 Gordon Ave., and at Chambers Walk Cafe, 2667 Main St., Lawrenceville.
