Local officials were on hand Monday to cut the ribbon on a gleaming new facility for a software design company that decided to make its new home in South Brunswick.
Infragistics Inc., an interface development company whose software was used to build web sites for companies such as Dell Computers and Turbo Tax, officially opened its doors on an impressive 74,000-square-foot facility.
”This company is all about helping our customers build a great experience,” said Infragistics CEO and South Brunswick resident Dean Guida. “This facility was built to have a great physical experience for our employees and the entire community. This was built to be a home that is warm and welcoming.”
Infragistics moved from Princeton to its new home on Commerce Drive on the South Brunswick-Cranbury border near Exit 8A of the turnpike. The company renovated an existing 54,000-square-foot warehouse for the project, which took about one year to complete.
”I’ve been a resident of South Brunswick for 23 years so that had an influence on the decision to move here,” Mr. Guida said. “This corridor is close to New York and Philadelphia, this town has great schools, and it fits with our mold as a company that takes care of our customers. South Brunswick fits our location needs and our company’s culture.”
The new facility will support 300 employees and includes such amenities as a library, café, gym and visually striking wall panels.
County Freeholder Carol Barrett joined Mayor Frank Gambatese, Deputy Mayor Chris Killmurray and councilmen Joseph Camarota, Charles Carley and John O’Sullivan at the ribbon cutting and festivities that followed.
Local officials said the hi-tech company is exactly the type of business South Brunswick is hoping to bring into the township.
”You retrofitted an older warehouse, and I was amazed when I saw what this was,” Mayor Gambatese told the crowd of company employees. “What a job you have done here. You are what South Brunswick is all about.”
