Council member Linda Geevers raised the concern at a previous meeting that the council should not pay a $120 bill for an officer to have his shirt custom-tailored. Township attorney Michael Herbert agreed that tailoring was not covered under their agreement with the department as a repair or maintenance cost.
The council will pay the $120 charge but will not pay future tailoring costs. Mr. Herbert said Chief Joe Pica has sent a memo to the officers that if uniforms do not fit properly, they will sent back to the manufacturer.
– The council introduced a capital improvement ordinance providing for $380,000 in public land maintenance.
– The council introduced an ordinance consolidating two township lots into one at the site of the former compost facility where the township wishes to build an additional parking lot for the Princeton Junction train station for West Windsor residents.
Consolidating the two properties would give the two-acre lot direct street frontage and parking lot access. Public hearings on the two ordinances are set for March 7.
– Alfred B. Vuocolo Jr. of Lawrenceville was appointed as the second alternate to the township prosecutor for a one-year term.
