The New Brunswick Jazz Project, continues its mission to keep jazz music alive in New Brunswick and Central New Jersey with the debut of Wednesday Jazz in the Atrium at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 2 Albany Street, New Brunswick, February 16 and 23, 7:30PM-10:30PM. Leading this week’s is sax master, Todd Bashore, and his quartet—featuring Orrin Evans, who Hot House Magazine called “the clear-cut best pianist of his time.”
The NBJP has featured a variety of jazz artists and special guests who have played all over the world, including among others, Arturo O’Farrill, Yoshi Waki, Jared Gold, Rudy Royston, Alex Collins, Orrin Evans, Andy Hunter, Steve Williams, Tia Fuller, Lee Hogans, Keyon Harrold and Rutger’s own Ralph Bowen, Conrad Herwig and, Chris Brown. Live, straight ahead jazz is presented every Thursday 7:30-10:30PM at Makeda, 338 George St., New Brunswick and every Friday 10PM-1AM at Catherine Lombardi, 3 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
