Events starting the week of June 23
Youngsters in grades 6-12 are invited to a Harry Potter Party at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at the public library in the municipal complex on South Branch Road.
Kids can choose their Hogwarts house, participate in wizarding games and enter to win a prize. Register in advance.
At 7 p.m. on Friday, July 7, in a program called “Mastodons, Cavemen and Bears, Oh My!” for children in grades K-
6, families and kids can learn about the Ice Age and the life of cavemen and the unusual animals. An interactive game show, “Are You Smarter Than a Caveman?” will also be played. Register in advance.
Computer courses continue this week, too, and new programs are scheduled.
Part 2 of Introduction to Google Search and Google Accounts will be held at noon Tuesday, June 28.
Hands-on sessions introducing Microsoft Word’s basic features will be held Thursdays, June 23 and 30, at 1 p.m.
In both courses, seating is limited, so registration is required.
Part 1 of Introduction to Google Docs will be held Thursday, July 7, at 7 p.m.
Part 1 of Introduction to YouTube will be held Friday, July 8, at 3 p.m.
Movies will be featured, too, in coming weeks.
“True Grit,” starring Jeff Bridges, Josh Brolin and Matt Damon, will be shown Friday, June 24 at 7 p.m.

Decorate a T-shirt (grades K-5) Bring a T-
shirt and the library will provide stencils and fabric markers. Cotton/polyester blends work best. Thursday, June 23, at 3 p.m.
Gizmo Guys (ages five and older) Get your summer reading off to a great start and stop by and watch the Gizmo Guys! They have won international juggling competitions and their rapid-fire act exhilarates and inspires laughter in both kids and adults. Tuesday, June 28 at 7 p.m.
Anime Club (grades 8-12) Hang out with friends as we watch anime, make candy sushi and discuss the latest manga. Thursday, June 30, at 5 p.m.
