Music fest for burger lovers

   Saturday, Aug. 6 bring a lawn chair and appetite for the Third Annual Burger Cook-Off at Mercer County Park in West Windsor.
   Enjoy $1 sliders from 12 restaurants while enjoying a free concert. Shorty Long and the Jersey Horns kick off the event at 3 p.m.; 2U a U2 tribute band, wraps up the concert around 8.
   Each restaurant must compete in the Burger “Beef” category and can opt to submit in the “Other” category which consists of anything other than beef. Each restaurant can opt to sell $1 sliders to compete in the public vote. Judges for 2011 include Frank Benowitz amd Douglas Fee from Mercer County Culinary Institute, food and travel writer Pat Tanner, and Mark Jahnke, social media food writer and founder of Jersey Foodies.
   2011 Burger Competitors will be: Killarney’s Publick House, Hamilton; Katmandu, Trenton; HOB Tavern, Bordentown City; Oliver a-Bistro, Bordentown City; Gary & Lenny’s New York Deli, Route 1, Lawrence; Lawrenceville Grill; Lawrence; Trenton Social, Trenton; Rocky Hill Tavern, Rocky Hill,; Princeton Sports Bar & Grill, Princeton; elements, Princeton; Chesterfield Inn, Chesterfield; Firkin Tavern, Ewing.
   Burger winners will be announced about 6 p.m.
   Other food will be available, as well as a Kid Zone and a beer garden.
