Borough taxpayers have until Sept. 1 to pay their third quarter taxes with an extension agreed upon by the Borough Council on Tuesday night.
Delays from the state have caused the borough to be late in mailing the bills. The state has been late certifying municipal levies to the county, which has caused a delay on establishing the tax rate for the 2011 year.
Taxes may be paid until Sept. 1 without penalty. Payments made after the five-day grace period will be subject to normal interest charges.
