REFORM PARTY ENDORSES MARTINEZ FOR SHERIFF
The Reform Party of New Jersey has formally announced its endorsement of Miriam Martinez for Mercer County Sheriff.
The Reform Party of New Jersey’s executive committee has voted to endorse Trenton-native Miriam Martinez, the CEO of Martinez Security and Investigations LLC, as their candidate for Mercer County Sheriff.
Martinez, who earned a place in the history books as the first Latina police officer in Mercer County, has over twenty-five years of law enforcement experience. A graduate of the Trenton Police Academy, she has worked for the State Police, the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office, and also assisted the Tri-State Federal Marshall’s Task Force. She was also a prominent figure involved with the “Weed and Seed” anti-narcotics program.
On May 24th Miriam Martinez announced her intention to run for Mercer County Sheriff as an independent. She subsequently sought the endorsement of the Reform Party of New Jersey, a new third party motivated largely by student activists, a request that was granted during a recent Executive Committee teleconference.
“I was very impressed when I first met Miriam Martinez,” said Chairman Jacob Zychick. “ I realized that she has the experience, knowledge, and courage that we so rarely found in our elected officials. The Reform Party’s endorsement is the latest in a series of positive developments pertaining to the Martinez campaign.”
