At 10:30 a.m. Jan. 9 Bob Schofield of the public library reported damage over the weekend to a 14-foot light stanchion that caused a light fixture to break off. The report was put on the record.
At 2 p.m. Jan. 9 Nicollette Piscaldo turned in a purse she found in a shopping cart at Walmart. The owner, Bethanne Linck of Skillman, was called and came to retrieve it. The wallet included personal IDs, credit cards and $160 in cash, police said.
Manville Fire Chief Marc Pruiksma called at 4:05 p.m. to say that the fire chief’s truck had been hit while parked in front of his home on North 9th Avenue. He gave police the name of a Manville man he believed was responsible.
John McGill of Knopf Street reported at 9:42 a.m. Jan. 11 that two “Kyle G. Schwartz” signs were damaged and possibly thrown out due to construction at the building. Approximate cost was $200. He wanted it on the record.
A caller reported that a .40-caliber handgun was accidentally fired in a residence on Bleecher Street at 2:47 p.m. Jan. 11. Detective Lt. John Crater responded. There were no injuries.
An officer found a camouflage duffel bag in the police headquarters parking lot on North Main Street at 8:35 a.m. Jan. 12. In it was clothing for a small child, but no identification.
A tractor-trailer hit the Lehigh Valley Railroad bridge near police headquarters on North Main Street at 7:17 a.m. Jan. 13.
A caller at 12:24 p.m. Jan. 13 reported two dead turkeys on the railroad tracks between North 8th and 10th avenues.
An East Frech Avenue woman came to headquarters at 3:39 p.m. Jan. 13 to say she had lost her driver’s license somewhere in Manville or Bound Brook. She had gone to the motor vehicle agency and gotten a new one.
After a motor vehicle stop at 10:46 p.m. Jan. 13, David Hanna, 18, of South 14th Avenue was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was released.
The rescue squad was called to a South Main Street apartment at 11 a.m. Jan. 14 to treat a 3-year-old child who drank detergent.
A woman reported at 12:37 p.m. Jan. 14 that her daughter had lost her Apple iPhone 3GS in a pink case at the Reading Cinema the previous night.
Numerous callers reported a man being hit by a car on South Main Street near Beekman Street shortly after 6 p.m. Jan. 14. Peter Hogan, 40, requested medical attention.
A caller from Jasinski Avenue reported having an unknown dog in a bedroom of the residence at 8:50 p.m. Jan. 14. Animal control was called.
Police reported the unattended death of an 85-year-old woman on North Bridge Street at 3:50 a.m. Jan. 15. The medical examiner took custody of the body.
A North Weiss Street caller reported at 9:12 a.m. Jan. 15 that someone damaged the driver’s side mirror on his 2010 Dodge Journey. Police confirmed minor damage; the estimate to repair is $300.
A Brooks Boulevard caller said at 1:54 a.m. Jan. 16 that a Magellan GPS and an iPod, with an estimated value of $270, were taken from a vehicle.
A woman from the Manville Laundromat called at 12:26 p.m. Jan. 16 to say she had an argument with a South Main Street woman over money lost in a vending machine. The woman from the store said she will reimburse the complaining woman $20.
