Tues., June 12
A free concert will be held at 8 p.m. at B’nai Tikvah, 1001 Finnegans Lane, North Brunswick, to benefit the Food Pantry to South Brunswick. The event is sponsored by the South Brunswick Area Clergy Association. A donation of canned food is requested at the event.
Volunteers are needed to help organize and work the third annual Confectionately Yours – Hugs for Brady Family Fun Day. The group’s next meeting is Tuesday, June 12, at Confectionately Yours – Route 27 Franklin Park at 6:30 p.m. The local charity promotes awareness of children suffering from pediatric cancers. No skills or experience are necessary. Volunteers range in age from 10 – 88 years old. Show-up at one of the group’s meetings and a place for you will be found in the organization. Social Security beneficiaries are not only retired people but also those who have been disabled by injury or illness, the survivors of workers who have died and dependents of beneficiaries. A breast cancer discussion will be held at 12:15pm at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522. Come learn about the myths surrounding this disease, what puts you at risk, and the signs and symptoms you may not know about. You will be moved by a breast cancer survivor’s inspirational story. Speakers include: Elizabeth Krefski, RN, MSN, director of University Medical Center at Princeton’s Breast Health Center Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center Health experts. Free mammograms will be available for those who qualify. This free program is presented by Princeton HealthCare System Community Education and the YWCA Princeton Breast Cancer Resource Center. Maurice Mahler, a historian, lecturer and artist, will present a lecture about Salvador Dali at 12:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522. A Barbecue and Entertainment is set for 11 a.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522. Learn about the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro and other health-related facilities moving to the 171-acre site by the Millstone River, Scudders Mill Road and Route 1 in Plainsboro. A 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. presentation at the South Brunswick Municipal Building, 540 Ridge Road, will be given by Pam Hersh, vice president for government and community affairs, Princeton HealthCare System, and Brian Rubin, major gifts officer, Princeton HealthCare System Foundation.
”Warhorse” will be shown at 12:30 p.m. at the South Brunswick Senior Center in the Municipal Complex Route 522.
