Elks to host tribute to ‘British Invasion’
The Edison Elks Lodge will host a concert, “The British Invasion Tribute,” 8 p.m. Aug. 24 at the lodge, located at 375 Old Post Road in Edison.
The concert will benefit the Elks’ charities, which include veterans, special children, scholarships, hoop shoot, and many community events such as Flag Day and Toys For Tots.

Discussion on famed photojournalist slated
Jim DelGiudice will discuss photographer Alfred Eisenstaedt at 1 p.m. Aug. 28 at River Ridge, 30 South Adelaide Ave., Highland Park.
Born in West Prussia, Eisenstaedt immigrated to the U.S. in 1935 and worked as a photographer for Life magazine. He is best known for his photograph of a sailor and nurse kissing in Times Square during a V-J Day celebration.
All are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served. Cost is $8 for Jewish Community Center members and $10 for nonmembers.

Neve Shalom slates Sept. 1 open house
Congregation Neve Shalom, 250 Grove Ave., Metuchen, will hold an open house 9- 11 a.m. Sept. 1.
