POLICE BLOTTER: Week of Nov. 30

East Windsor
   Police said a complainant reported that a 30-yard dumpster worth approximately $5,000 was stolen from the property of the Kids Preferred Warehouse on Twin Rivers Drive between 1 p.m. Oct. 12 and 10 a.m. Oct. 15. The incident is under investigation.
   An officer observed a blue Volkswagen on Route 130 at the intersection of Route 571 at 1:30 a.m. Nov. 22, police said. The vehicle was observed traveling in an erratic manner.
   Police said that the vehicle was stopped on Route 571 and the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage on the driver, Thomas Kelly, 31, of Hamilton. He was given field sobriety tests and charged with driving while intoxicated.
   Mr. Kelly was later released pending court action. In addition to DWI, Mr. Kelly was charged with failure to maintain lane, careless driving and reckless driving.
Four vehicles parked in the parking lot of City Streets Café were scratched with a sharp object between 7 p.m. Nov. 21 and 12:38 a.m. Nov. 22, according to police. The total damage was estimated at $2,300. The incident is under investigation.
   Between Nov. 2 and Nov. 22, police said that a complainant reported that his two unlocked vehicles were parked in the parking lot of Evanston Drive when they were entered and two GPS systems worth $100 each were stolen.
   The complainant reported that her apartment was entered through an unlocked window and a 55 inch flat screen television worth approximately $500, a Playstation 3 worth approximately $250, and 10 DVD movies worth approximately $150 were stolen, police said, between 2:45 p.m. and 10:15 p.m. Nov. 22 at Princeton Arms East. The incident is under investigation.
   Jorge Mocha-Paltin, 38, of Jamestown Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and uninsured vehicle on Route 133 at 1:58 a.m. Nov. 23, according to police.
   An officer responded to Route 133 near Route 130 for a report of a one-car motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, he found the defendant, Mr. Mocha-Paltin, with his vehicle disabled after sideswiping a guardrail, police said. The suspect was too intoxicated to perform field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI.
   Mr. Mocha-Paltin was later released pending court action.
   Police said a complainant reported that her Mongoose bicycle, worth approximately $400, was stolen. According to police, the bike had been left unsecured on the front porch of a Princeton Arms apartment between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 and 11 a.m. Nov. 23.
   Ronald Henderson, 53, of Willingboro, was charged with shoplifting after 6 p.m. Nov. 25, police said.
   Officers responded to the Walmart for a report of a shoplifter who was seen taking items and preparing to leave the store. As officers arrived, they observed Mr. Henderson leaving the store with a shopping cart full of merchandise which store personnel confirmed that he had not paid for prior to leaving Walmart, police said. The items recovered were a LCD television worth $298, an Xbox console worth $149 and two 10-pound dumbbells worth $9.47 each.
   Mr. Henderson was later released pending court action.
   Police said an officer observed a black Honda traveling northbound on Route 130 with the passenger not wearing his seatbelt, police said, 11:09 a.m. Nov. 26. The vehicle was stopped as it turned onto Stockton Street and the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
   Investigation revealed that the passenger was in possession of a baggie of cocaine, however no marijuana was located, police said. The passenger, Trevor Furrer, 23, of Trenton, was arrested and later released pending court action. He was charged with possession of cocaine.
Hightstown
   At 9:50 p.m. Nov. 21 on Meadow Drive, officers arrested Charles Mason, 54, of Railroad Avenue, and charged Mr. Mason with obstructing the administration of law and tampering with evidence.
   Officers were dispatched to the area for suspected narcotic activity and upon locating the suspect vehicle effectuated a motor vehicle stop, police said.
   During the stop officer observed the Mr. Mason chewing on something, turning Mr. Mason’s mouth green, which was later determined to be six Clonazepam pills, in an attempt to conceal and destroy the evidence, police said.
   Mr. Mason was turned over to the Hightstown First Aid Squad and transported to a local hospital for evaluation, according to police.
   On Center Street at 1:35 a.m. on Nov. 22, officers charged Gregory Harrison, 31, of Wrightstown, with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, and improper parking, according to police.
   While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle illegally parked and occupied. The officer made contact with the driver, Mr. Harrison, after the driver did not move the vehicle, and upon such, detected a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage, police said.
   The officer had Mr. Harrison perform field sobriety tests, which he failed, police stated. Mr. Harrison was transported to police headquarters and submitted breath samples that resulted in a reading of 0.18 percent BAC.
   Mr. Harrison was later released upon being sober, police said.
   At 6:08 p.m. Nov. 25 on Franklin Street, police said officers arrested Charles Skurzynski Jr. 49, of Monroe, and charged him with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated in a school zone, reckless driving, and failure to maintain lane.
   While on patrol the officer observed Mr. Skurzynski who appeared to be disoriented enter into a vehicle and while driving, crossed over the double yellow line several times, police said. Upon stopping the driver, officers had Mr. Skurzynski perform field sobriety tests, which he failed.
   Police said he was taken into custody and was found to be under the influence of prescription medication. Mr. Skurzynski was later released to a family member with pending court action.
