TRENTON — The 15th District New Jersey delegation — Senator Shirley K. Turner, Assemblyman Reed Gusciora, and Assemblywoman Bonnie Watson Coleman — have issued a press release that says they will be seeking re-election as the Democratic candidates for the Legislature in the November 2013 general election.
The 15th legislative team currently represents the communities of Trenton, Ewing, Lawrence, Pennington, Hopewell Township and Borough, and West Windsor in Mercer County as well as Lambertville, West Amwell, and East Amwell in Hunterdon County.
During the current session, the legislators’ work has primarily focused on reducing property taxes and providing business incentives for job creation. However, the legislators have also worked to reduce the costs of government, provide educational opportunities for our youth, and create a safe environment for our children through legislation that they have sponsored.
”We are proud to represent the residents of our diverse district and have the opportunity to fight for their needs and interests in the Legislature,” Sen. Turner said. “We are continuing to work to earn the trust and confidence of our constituents, whose interests are always foremost in our minds with every decision that we make. We work hard to be responsive representatives, and we hope to have the opportunity to continue serving the 15th district.”
”We have enjoyed our working relationship and interaction with other county and local officials, but we are also proud to be responsible to our constituents and tirelessly work on their behalf,” Assemblyman Gusciora said. “I look forward to continuing these relationships.”
”I have the highest regard for my partner in the Assembly, Reed Gusciora, as well as our senator,” Assemblywoman Watson Coleman stated. “We have a history together, we work well together, and we know the needs of our district. Notwithstanding, we are excited to continue working for our constituents and hear their needs and expectations.”
The 15th district Senator and Assembly teammates says they have a list of legislative accomplishments including the accessibility of micro-business loans for women entrepreneurs, an expansion of drug-court programs, foreclosure protection for homeowners, clean air standards for car emissions, and expanding the recycling program to include electronic waste.
