Junior John Szukis, son of John Szukis and Jeanne Mazzucco, both of Hillsborough, was named to the dean’s honor list for the fall semester at Moravian College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.
Students must carry three or more course units and have a quality-point average for the term of 3.50 or higher.
Three Hillsborough students at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s College at Florham in Madison have been named to the honors list for the fall semester.
To qualify, a student must have a 3.5 or better grade point average out of a possible 4.0 and be enrolled in a minimum of four courses.
The three are Jayme Gilling, Casey Koplik and Lucila Sparkes.
Midshipman Margaret E. Gilroy, a 2010 graduate of Hillsborough High School, has been named to the U.S. Naval Academy superintendent’s list for the fifth consecutive semester.
The list requires a midshipman to achieve a semester quality point rating of at least 3.4 out of 4.0, an A in conduct, A in military performance, A or B in physical education and A or B in the physical readiness test.
Midshipman Gilroy, who is majoring in systems engineering, has maintained an SQPR of 4.0 each semester. Additionally, she was the recipient of the spring Vice Admiral William P. Lawrence Ethics Essay Award.
She and other fall award winners were honored at a dinner at the Naval Academy.
Two winners are selected each year from more than 1,200 essay entries. The essay contest is sponsored by the Vice Admiral James B. Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership.
