BORDENTOWN: Fishermen make strides for women

   BORDENTOWN — Ninety-three pickerel fishermen participated in the annual fundraiser Men Fishing for Women, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer, raising a total of $650.
   The first-place winner at the April 13 and April 14 event at the Sportsmen’s Center in Bordentown was Gary Rayhorn, of Howell, who won $325 for a 3.1-pound, 26 ¾ -inch pickerel, said organizer Gary Horner, of Columbus
   The second-place winner was Mr. Horner himself (“this is the first time in 23 years that I’ve placed”) with a 4.5-pound, 26-inch fish. He won $186, half of which he said he is contributing to the Cancer Society.
   Third place went to Al Shalhs of Yardville who won a $100 gift certificate from the Sportsmen’s Center of Bordentown for a 3.4-pound, 25 ¾ -inch fish.
   Fourth place went to Pat Harrigan of Bradley Beach who won a $50 gift certificate from the Sportsmen’s Center for his 25 ¾ -inch 2.13-pound pickerel.
   Contributors to the event were Dr. Scott Dorfner of Burlington Family Medical Center, Hi-Tech Carpet and Furniture Cleaning of Columbus, the Sportsmen’s Center, and the Taylor Madison Reynolds Memorial Fund of Burlington.
   The $650 donation was made to the Cancer Society.
