HAMILTON – State Police say people several were injured Saturday when a bus went off the roadway on I-295 at approximately 2:50 p.m.
Authorities said the cause of the crash, which occurred on the northbound side of the road near exit 60, is still under investigation.
Initial media reports indicated one person was injured though Sgt. Brian Polite of the State Police told the Hamilton Observer that while he did not have an exact number immediately available “several were treated for minor injuries at area hospitals.”
As of 6 p.m. the right lane of the roadway was closed as crews attempted to recover the bus with cranes, causing several miles of backup traffic on the northbound side of I-295.
