Memorial Service Commemorates Post 401 and Charles Wolfe

The biggest crowd ever attended Memorial Day Remembrance Services on the front lawn of the Lt. John Farnkopf American Legion Post 401, 148 Major Rd, Monmouth Junction, on Monday, May 27, at 11 a.m. The event also commemorated the Post’s 65th birthday. Two of the Post’s three 60 plus year members were on hand to commemorate the occasion: Joseph Spataro and Charles Wolfe. During the service Gary Cooper, post commander, and Joseph Spataro presented Wolfe with his 60 continuous year membership pin and a certificate signed by the National Commander. Cooper and Barbara Buhl, auxiliary president, presented the ceremonial wreath which honors those who gave their lives in military service to the United States. Music was provided by the South Brunswick High School Band under the direction of Mark Kraft. Ginny Kraft sang the National Anthem & God Bless America. Refreshments including birthday cake were served following the ceremony.
