Chiropractor Peter Plumb, whose practice was based on Lawrence Road, pleaded guilty Tuesday morning to second-degree sexual assault and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact before Mercer County Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez.
A plea agreement calls for Dr. Plumb to receive a five-year suspended sentence and to be subject to parole supervision for life. He must submit to a psychological evaluation to determine if he is a repetitive and compulsive sex offender, and register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.
He also will forfeit his chiropractic license and he will be barred from any future state licensure. The Plumb Chiropractic Center, where he practiced, was located in the 1200 block of Lawrence Road.
The 55-year-old Yardley, Pa., resident was arrested in December 2012 for allegedly touching two patients in an improper manner, according to police. One victim was 20 years old and the other victim was 39 years old. The incidents occurred earlier in the year.
In the first incident, Dr. Plumb allegedly put his hands down the pants of the 20-year-old and put his hand on her pubic area in an effort to align her hips. She became uncomfortable with this and stopped going to Dr. Plumb, police said.
The 39-year-old victim told police that Dr. Plumb allegedly touched her breasts through her clothing and also placed his hand down her pants to treat her groin area. He also allegedly removed her pants and penetrated the victim with his fingers. She reported the incident to police.
The Lawrence Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Special Victims Unit conducted the investigation.
Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 2.
