The Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance has set its 11th annual “Hopewell Valley Night at Trenton Thunder.” This event brings the Hopewell Valley community together to enjoy an evening of community, baseball and to support the efforts of the Municipal Alliance. This year’s event is slated for June 12 at 7:05 p.m. when the Thunder plays the Binghamton Mets.
We try to be all things Hopewell Valley this night. The Hopewell Valley Chorus is invited to sing the National Anthem and one of our Hopewell Valley baseball or softball teams joins the field with the Trenton Thunder players along with local community celebrities selling 50/50 tickets in the audience.
Discounted tickets can be reserved by filling out an order form available on the Hopewell Township website: www.hopewelltwp.org under news and notices or by calling the Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance at 737-0120, ext. 642.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for seniors or children under 12. Seats will be blocked together in the pavilion section and groups are welcome. Tickets will be mailed to residents or can be picked up in the Hopewell Township Health Department the week of May 28. Deadline to purchase tickets is May 16.
What’s interesting is our young people told us during a recent youth summit they are looking for ways to spend time with family. Specifically our seventh- and ninth-graders identified family support as the most important asset to build in our community. The suggestions they came up with to build this asset were to have monthly family activities and more places for families to go and hang out together.
A portion of each ticket sale and 50/50 raffle during the game will benefit Hopewell Valley Municipal Alliance — also known as Healthy Communities/Healthy Youth. This will provide funding and support for over 25 community programs that focus on positive youth development, drug and alcohol education and prevention and community engagement.
