Government: New Hanover’s regular business meetings are generally held on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the Township Hall, 2 Hockamick Road.
The five-member Township Committee is elected directly by the voters in partisan elections to serve three-year terms of office on a staggered basis, with one or two seats coming up for election each year. At an annual reorganization meeting, the Township Committee selects one of its members to serve as mayor and another as deputy mayor.
Schools: The Bordentown Regional School District takes students from New Hanover for grades nine through 12. Students in grades nine through12 attend Bordentown Regional High SchoolThe district’s website is www.bordentown.k12.nj.us.
