Ground Round is gearing up to open a restaurant in East Windsor.
The restaurant will be located adjacent to the Bowling Center at 529 Route 130.
”We are opening up in the beginning of September,” Jack Crawford, president and CEO of Ground Round said. “The bar formally known as Brewsters will be the new Ground Round.”
The opening is part of a development agreement with franchisee, Recreation Centers LLC, which owns and operates the bowling center adjacent to the restaurant.
The first Ground Round opened in 1969. Today, the restaurant is reemerging in familiar major markets, with recent openings in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
”East Windsor and Lakewood are next up in New Jersey following our opening last fall in Bradley Beach, and we have two more openings planned for 2014 as well,” Dennis Todero, director of operations for Recreation Centers LLC, said. “Each project includes a full renovation of the bowling centers as well as a conversion of our restaurants to Ground Round, a brand our guests know and are excited to see returning to the New Jersey area.”
The East Windsor restaurant will feature the two-room layout and design Ground Round is known for, with a family dining room and sports bar lounge. The menu offers more than 80 items, including a lunches and dinners, limited time offers, daily specials and a full kids menu.
”We are a known brand with a great history and our guests continue to be loyal, and now we are led by the input and direction of our franchisees, who are the caretakers and every day operators of our brand,” Mr. Crawford said.
The East Windsor Ground Round is now hiring and will be hosting an open house job fair from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Aug. 28. The establishment seeks cooks, bussers, bartenders, servers, hosts and dish washers.
