HAMILTON — Aqua New Jersey, Inc., recently completed three projects totaling $495,000 to replace over a half-mile of water main in Hamilton Township.
According to a press release, crews replaced 1,900 feet of existing 4-inch cast iron main with 8-inch ductile iron main on Mercer Street between Nottingham Way and Cubberly Avenue as well as on Miry Brook Road between Shawnee Drive to Link Lane.
In addition, Aqua installed 1,400 feet of 12-inch ductile iron main to connect two existing mains on Route 130 from Meadowbrook Road to Main Street to provide better water flow in the area, including that used for fire fighting, according to the release.
The projects are part of $12 million in infrastructure improvements Aqua has planned throughout the state this year. The new main will improve water quality and service reliability in the area.
