Community project scheduled for Friday, Nov. 15
Senior citizens will help with an Operation Shoebox NJ community project tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 15, at the Manville Senior Center in Fire Company No. 1 at 20 So. Third Ave.
Operation Shoebox packages candy, toiletries, small items to be sent to troops serving overseas.
The center is normally open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
A suggested lunch donation of $2 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $6.50. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
Transportation is available for those who do not drive.
Bingo is played every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.
Birthdays are celebrated on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
Creative movement exercises are led Wednesdays, 10:15-11 a.m. An aerobic chair exercise class is sponsored every Monday and Wednesday, 8:45-9:45 a.m.
A healthy bones exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30-11 a.m. Advance registration and a doctor’s note are required.
Tai chi is held every Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Advance registration is required.

Fri., Nov. 15 — Operation Shoebox community project, 10:45 a.m.
Mon., Nov. 18 — “Resources for Growing Old and Living Independently” by Nancy Field, Division of Aging Services, State of New Jersey.
Tues., Nov. 19 — “O Taste & See: Healthy Eating” by Jeanette Grimes, MHS, American Diabetes Association.
Wed., Nov. 20 — Holiday safety & self defense with Tim Franks, Manville Police Department.
Nov. 21 and 22 — Display by the Hillsborough Quilters, a small group of women who have been meeting monthly for seven years to share their love of quilting. They have made and donated to area charities or agencies more than 125 quilts for children. The quilts that will be displayed at the Manville Senior Center will be donated to the Agape House in Somerville.
Tues., Nov. 26 — Performance by the Hillsborough Rockettes and Rocket.
Nov. 28 and 29 — Center closed for holiday.
