To the editor:
Now that the elections are over, I want to say a big thank you to all the people who not only voted for me, but also to those who worked hard for my election.
I had the worst ballot position of being last on a section of the ballot that was hard to find, and, yet, with a great many people’s help, I managed to win with my running mate, Michael Markulec.
I would also like to think that this election was an affirmation of a statement that Michael Markulec and I made that people who come from very different perspectives can work together when they have common goals if they have great respect for each other and a dedication to the work before them.
The results I think also show that people are tired of negative campaigns where some candidates think that elections are won by attacking others rather than putting forth what they stand for; candidates that would rather divide the community than try to bring it together.
I can’t wait to start in my new position with an outstanding board, board president, superintendent, teachers and students. For the parents in this community, I ask that you join us in making Hopewell not only the best district in the county, but also the best in the state.
