WEST AMWELL, STOCKTON: Governing body leaders take posts

Zach Rich to be West Amwell’s mayor in 2014

By John Tredrea, Special Writer
Zach Rich is the mayor of West Amwell Township for 2014.
Staying in the post of deputy mayor of the township this year is George Fisher.
Township Clerk Lora Olsen said Messrs. Rich and Fisher were unanimously re-elected to those posts at the township’s Jan. 6 reorganization meeting.
There were no other nominations for either post, she said.
The other member of the three-seat West Amwell Township Committee is John Dale, who was appointed to the governing body in October to replace Tom Molnar, who resigned because he moved out of the township. All three members of the committee are Republicans.
Mr. Dale was a member of the township’s Zoning Board of Adjustment for 12 years.
AT STOCKTON Borough’s Jan. 2 reorganization meeting, incumbent Tim Nemeth and newcomer Donald Vandegrift took oaths of office for three-year terms on the Borough Council, said Borough Clerk Michele Hovan.
Mr. Nemeth, a Democrat, was re-elected to council in November.
Mr. Vandegrift, a Republican, won a seat as a write-in candidate in the election.
Also at the Stockton reorganization meeting, Ms. Hovan said, the council chose Neal Esposito as council president for 2014.
Beginning last September, Mr. Esposito completed Michael Hagerty’s 2013 term as council president.
Mr. Hagerty resigned from council when he moved out of town.
