The intersection of Alexander Street and University Place will reopen sometime Sunday afternoon, Princeton University said.
Work crews will be at the scene that day, the school said. The intersection, closed to construct a traffic roundabout, will be fully operational on Monday, the college said.
The roundabout is replacing a traffic light, the school said.
The intersection was supposed to reopen Jan.26, but that date was pushed back all the way to Feb.9 because of the cold and snow. The latest reopening date was announced Thursday. In addition, the college said a temporary bypass road that had connected University and Alexander “will close when the roundabout opens.”
This is but one piece of the school’s $330 million arts and transit project. The town had felt it an important milestone to reach this point in a year when other elements of the project will move forward.
