Alexandria Kanellos, an accounting major and currently a senior at Ramapo College in Mahwah, was named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester. She graduated from Hillsborough High School in 2010. Full-time students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.50 or higher.
Two Hillsborough residents have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa.
One is Timothy A. Rath, an accounting major; the other is Zachary J. Rich, a nursing major.
To qualify, a student must have a minimum 3.25 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Jesse Gonzalez of Hillsborough has been placed on the dean’s list of Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, N.Y., for excellence in scholarship for the spring semester.
The College of Arts and Sciences is Cornell’s largest undergraduate college.
Nicholas Ackerman, a resident of Hillsborough, and a member of the class of 2015, has been named to the dean’s list at Providence (R.I.) College for the spring semester.
To qualify, students must achieve at least a 3.55 grade-point average with a minimum of 12 credits.
Hillsborough students David Fullam, Courtney Payne and Troy Solt have been named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Hartford (Conn.)
Matthew VanDerveer, a 2012 Hillsborough High School graduate, received dean’s list honors for the spring semester at Elon (N.C.) University.
The list is composed of students with no grade below a B-minus and a grade-point average of at least 3.50 in a minimum of 12 semester hours. Matthew will begin his junior year in the fall with majors in economics and psychology.
Fe Patricia Bernardo, a University of Dallas student from Hillsborough, has returned from spending the spring semester studying at the university’s 12-acre Eugene Constantin campus just outside Rome, Italy.
Since 1970, University of Dallas students have had the opportunity — usually in their sophomore year — to spend a semester in the Eternal City studying, traveling and experiencing the art, architecture, literature, philosophy and deeds that form the basis of Western civilization. In addition to taking study trips to locations like the Roman Coliseum and the Vatican, students also travel throughout Italy on professor-led tours.
A highlight is a 10-day study tour of Greece, where students perform plays in ancient amphitheatres and read about Socrates on the sites where he once philosophized.
Vincent Giralo of Hillsborough has been named to the dean’s list at Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., for the spring semester of the 2013-14 academic year. Students must achieve a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0. Vincent is the son of Anthony and Kimberly Giralo.
Thomas Martino from Hillsborough was named to the spring dean’s list at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C. Students who achieve a minimum 3.4 and no grade below a C were named to the list.
Amy Alyssa Rubin of Hillsborough is one of 398 students named to the spring dean’s list at Juniata College in Huntingdon, Pa. Each student must have at least a 3.6 grade average.
Amy Alyssa is the daughter of Amy E. Rubin and Kenneth A. Rubin and a 2010 graduate of Hillsborough High School.
Two Hillsborough brothers earned academic honors at college.
Ryan Workman was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. He will be a senior in the fall, and is majoring in business, with a minor in computer science. He is an active member of Delta Sigma Phi. He graduated from Hillsborough High School in 2011
Tyler Workman was named to the dean’s list for the 2013-14 academic year at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Tyler will be a sophomore and is a finance major with a minor in entrepreneurship. He is an active member of Theta Chi fraternity and graduated from Hillsborough High in 2013.
