Would you know what to do if you suddenly found yourself in an active shooter situation? How would you coach your child to respond to a bully? What are the best ways to prevent child abduction and kidnapping? And what can you do to protect yourself from the invasions into your personal information through the web and social media?
E.Y. Martial Arts and Self-Defense Concepts will host a free back-to-school Public Safety Day on Saturday, September 20, that will address all of those situations and more in a series of workshops presented by Chris Sutton, founder of the acclaimed C.O.B.R.A. reality-based self-defense system.
“Our goal is teach families how to avoid becoming easy targets for criminals and bullies and how to respond to a variety of situations that can occur in school and business settings,” says Master Ed Yuncza, owner of E.Y. Martial Arts. “This Public Safety program was created by Chris Sutton, and this is a rare opportunity to learn from the source. In addition to physical measures, he also addresses the psychology of self-defense to minimize or even eliminate harassment and attacks.”
E.Y. Martial Arts is a C.O.B.R.A.-accredited school and Master Yuncza is a certified instructor in the system. Through his unique blend of professional and practical experience, Master Yuncza instills in his students that awareness, combined with mental and physical preparedness, can minimize the risk of becoming an easy target. “The reality is that criminals and bullies are looking for an easy target. At E.Y. Martial Arts, we train children and adults how not to be an easy target, and this workshop will provide some of that insight as well,” he says.
Master Sutton’s extensive martial arts training as well as his law enforcement experience dealing with real criminals have given him highly unique insights into the reality of self-defense, which he used to create the C.O.B.R.A. system.
