Bruce Gunther, of Pebble Creek Court, Hopewell Township, recently was sworn in as the Mercer County representative on the New Jersey School Board Association (NJSBA) Board of Directors.
He will serve through the end of 2015 and will complete the term that opened up when Mary Taylor-Hayes resigned from the Trenton Board of Education.
"It is an honor for Hopewell Valley to be the voice for Mercer County school boards and we are so proud that Bruce Gunther is stepping up to take such an active statewide role. It is even more impressive when you consider that this is his inaugural year on our board," said Lisa Wolff, HVRBE president.
Mr. Gunther joined the Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education in January 2014, after he and Michael Markulec took oaths of office for three-year terms at the school board’s reorganization meeting in January. Both are serving their first terms on the board.
Messrs. Markulec and Gunther replaced Jim Wulf and Stephen Keen, who did not seek re-election, in November 2013.
