Mr. Costello, 74, of the Iselin section of Woodbridge died Dec. 9 at the Haven Hospice Center at John F. Kennedy Medical Center, Edison. Born in New York, he moved to Iselin 40 years ago. Mr. Costello was police sergeant for Middlesex County College for 25 years before retiring in 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a sergeant of the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Costello was predeceased by his wife, Anne (Scollon) Costello in 1994; and two brothers, Francis and Kevin Costello. He is survived by his five sons, Thomas J. Costello Jr., Old Bridge; Steven Hodgdon, Sanrafael, Calif.; Christopher Costello, Pocono Summit, Pa.; Kevin Costello, Westfield; and Frank P. Costello, Iselin. Services were held at the Thomas J. Costello Funeral Home, 200 Cooper Ave., Iselin, followed by interment at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia. Memorial donations may be made to the Haven Hospice Center, c/o John F. Mrs. Kahree, 89, of Manalapan died Dec. 9 at The Manor, Freehold Township. Born in Woodbridge, she had lived there before moving to Freehold and then Manalapan, where she resided for the past four years. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Freehold. Prior to retiring, she was a secretary for the Woodbridge Township Board of Education, of which she was also a former member. She was predeceased by her husband, Irving, in 1993. Surviving are two daughters, Gail Thorpe of Manalapan and Merle Kahree of San Francisco; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held at the Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold, followed by interment at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent section of Manalapan.
