Brandon Farms residences entered in June
An investigation has led to charges against two people involved with residential burglaries that occurred in Brandon Farms in the early part of summer, according to Hopewell Township police Chief Lance Maloney.
On June 5, patrol officers responded to two residential burglaries, one on Henley Place and one on East Stanford Road. Residents had returned home to find their front doors damaged and money and jewelry missing.
A follow-up investigation by Hopewell Township police Lt. William Springer, with information provided by Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) Investigator John Salamone and Montgomery County Detective Jeff Koch, led to the charges of burglary and theft against 36-year-old Frederick L. Gray, of North 66th Street, Philadelphia, and his 41-year-old brother Leroy Gray, of North 9th Street, Philadelphia;.
Frederick and Leroy Gray both face charges of burglary and theft throughout numerous jurisdictions in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
According to information provided by the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, a number of the burglaries targeted residents of Asian or Middle Eastern descent, which also was the case in the Hopewell Township burglaries.
Frederick Gray was arrested by Philadelphia Police on Dec. 27, and was being held at their Detention Center on various warrants including the Hopewell Township charges. Mr. Gray’s bail is set at $100,000 full cash. Mr. Gray is awaiting extradition to New Jersey and his case will be forwarded to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office for review.
Leroy Gray remains at large. His bail is also set at $100,000 full cash. Once he is taken into custody his case also will be forwarded to the Mercer County prosecutor’s office.
Information sharing continues between all of the law enforcement agencies involved with these investigations in an attempt to identify additional possible suspects.
