The Lady Vikings only loss in the season thus far was to a competitive East Brunswick team.
“The girls work very hard and are really coming together as a team,” Varsity Head Coach Jeffrey Johnson said. “Even though we are young I expect that we can compete with anyone and everyone that we play.”
Amber Brown led scoring with 21 points, followed by Brianna Davis and Alexis Adams, both with nine points during the game. Samia Baig, Gillian Chambres and Natalia Louhisdon also scored in the victory.
On the defensive side of the ball, Chambres led with 11 rebounds. Brown followed with nine and Louhisdon with seven. Adams and Baig grabbed six and five rebounds respectively.
The starting players for the team include one senior, three sophomores and one freshmen.
Coach Johnson was optimistic for the season and said, “This season should be very successful if we continue to work towards maximizing our potential. I invite the community to come out on Tuesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday afternoons to witness how well these young women represent.”
The Varsity team’s assistant coach is Jasmine Lytel.
The Junior Varsity team is led by Coach Kim Vibroneck and the Freshman team by Coach Kevin Drakes.
