Schools and offices in Lawrence closed early Monday, in advance of a pending snowstorm that was expected to dump more than a foot of snow on the township.
The Lawrence Township public school district opted for an early dismissal for students in the grades pre-K-to-12 school system. No decision had been about classes for Tuesday as of 3 p.m. Monday.
Rider University announced plans to close its offices at 4 p.m. Monday, and to cancel classes that began after 4 p.m. at its Lawrence and Princeton campuses. A concert and social event, scheduled to be held at the Westminster Choir College campus in Princeton, were also canceled.
The Rider University women’s basketball game against St. Peter’s also was canceled for Monday night, and will be rescheduled for Feb. 10.
Classes and offices will be closed Jan. 27 at the Lawrence and Princeton campuses.
Garbage collection scheduled for Jan. 27 will be picked up Jan. 30, according to Lawrence Township officials. Lawrence Township Municipal Court was open Monday, but closed on Tuesday.
