PRINCETON: Thrillers highlight Dillon hoop semis

   MarShawn Ferguson scored 25 points, including 10 in overtime as the Suns topped the Magic, 38-37, in four overtimes in the playoff semifinals of the Boys 6th-7th Grade Division of the Princeton Recreation Dillon Youth Basketball League. Bruno Cucchi had seven points in the win. Andrew Friedman had 13 points and Nick Trenholm added nine in the loss.
   In the other semifinal game in the division, Ben Petrone scored 12 points and Ryan Bowen added 11 as the Spurs topped the Lakers, 36-31. Boaz Segal added seven points in the win, while Jay Jackson had 18 points in the loss.
   In the Boys 8th-9th Grade Division playoff semifinals, Jack Eichelberger scored 14 points, Carson Giles had 11 and Andrew Moss added nine as Cal-Poly topped Montana, 38-36. Razzy Wachtel had 19 points and Alex Ackerman added five in the loss. In the other semifinal, Hofstra topped Charlotte, 43-27, as Thomas Reid scored 14 points and Louis Jamieson-Dove added 12. Ryan Farrell had 16 points in the loss.
   In the semifinals of the Boys 4th-5th Grade Division, Masoin, Griffin & Pierson topped Vincent Baldino & Brothers, 39-29, as William Doran scored 28 points and Jude Blaser added nine. Jack Serxner had 13 points and Jeremy Sallade added 10 in the loss. In the other semifinal, Woodwinds topped Lependorf & Silverstein, 29-13, as Gabe Majeski scored nine points, Matthew Land had eight, and Jaxson Petrone had seven. Jake Zuckerman had seven points in the loss.
   In the 4th-5th Grade Girls Division playoffs, Princeton Restorative Dental topped Tiger Labs, 8-7, as Yayla Tur had four points and Sophie Jaffe and Sofia Aguayo added two apiece. Ali Surace had three points, while Lauren Klein and Tyler Robinson each scored two in the loss. Princeton Pettoranello topped McCaffrey’s, 8-5, as Sarah Granozio scored six points and Grace Brown added two. Ada Metaxes and Marcela Nearing had two points each in the loss.
   In the Girls 6th-9th Grade Division semifinals, Conte’s topped Princeton Pi, 32-13, as Renee Nearing scored 16 points, Zoe Thierfelder had eight, and Kendall Nehlig added six. Michele Granozio had 13 points in the loss. In the other semifinal, Cross Culture won by forfeit over Naked Pizza.
   The championship games in all five divisions will be played Saturday, March 14.
