Melissa Stept of Hillsborough was named to the dean’s list at Rutgers University School of Arts & Science Honors Program, in New Brunswick, for achievement during the fall semester, when she received a 4.0 GPA.
Qualification for the dean’s list is determined by a semester grade-point average of 3.500 or better based on no fewer than 12.0 credits.
Morgan Shein, a Rutgers University graduate student from Hillsborough, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester after earning a GPA of 4.0. Morgan hascompleted student teaching and will graduate in May with a master’s degree.
Rachel Shein, a 2013 graduate of Hillsborough High School, was named to the dean’s list for the fall semester at West Chester (Pa.) University. She is an education major.
Shannon McCray, a 2014 graduate of Hillsborough High School, enrolled in the honors program at Kutztown University as a special education major, made the fall semester dean’s list with a 3.87 grade-point average. A minimum grade of 3.6 is needed.
She is vice president of the school’s Council for Exceptional Children and Community Service Chair of Kutztown University’s equestrian team. She is a member of the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics, a dancer on the Performing Dance Portmanteau and is on the Honors Club Community Service Committee.
Four Hillsborough residents studying at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa., were named to the dean’s list for academic achievement during the fall semester. Each student achieved at least a 3.60 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Of the local achievers, Chelsea Cutino, Carli Jones and Ashley Scrivanich are graduates of Hillsborough High School. Matthew Ackerman is a graduate of Immaculata High School.
Matthew Mazer, a 2014 graduate of Hillsborough High School, has been named
to the dean’s list for the fall semester at Rowan University. He is an accounting major.
Elise C. Reed, a senior from Skillman and a majoring in civil engineering is among the 768 cadets who were recently named to the dean’s list for the first semester at Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, Va.
To be eligible, a cadet must have a term grade-point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and no grade below C. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Franklin D Reed.
The three Hillsborough freshmen attending the University of Massachusetts at Amherst were named to the dean’s list for the fall semester. They are Brian Friscia, majoring in kinesiology; Danny Garb, majoring in business, and Sean Julius, a sports management major. Students must earn a GPA of 3.5 to qualify.
