LAWRENCE POLICE BLOTTER: June 12

Kenneth Longo, 58, of New Egypt, was charged with shoplifting for taking three shopping carts, valued at a combined $210, from the Acme grocery store at the Lawrence Shopping Center at 10:39 a.m. June 4. A police officer observed the shopping carts in the bed of Mr. Longo’s pickup truck, along with other scrap metal. 

Esvin Barrientos, 45, of Trenton, was charged with driving under the influence, failure to maintain lane, reckless driving and having an uninsured motor vehicle after he was observed driving in an erratic manner on Brunswick Pike and the Trenton Freeway at 10:57 p.m. June 4. 
 Ismael Escobar, 27, of Morrisville, Pennsylvania, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, being an unlicensed driver, failure to exhibit documents and failure to park off the roadway at 11:08 p.m. June 4. A police officer saw a car parked on the side of the Trenton Freeway and when he investigated, he discovered Mr. Escobar asleep in the car with the key in the ignition. 

Melvin Mitchell, 20, of Avalon Way, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia at 11:26 p.m. June 6 after police were called about a disturbance in a room at the Howard Johnson’s Motel on Brunswick Pike. Police discovered Mr. Mitchell had an outstanding warrant for $408 from Lawrence Township Municipal Court, and he was taken to the Mercer County Corrections Center in lieu of bail. 
 Nova Oneyda, 28, of Trenton, was charged with driving under the influence, being an unlicensed driver, speeding, reckless driving, tailgating, failure to maintain lane and having an uninsured motor vehicle after she was observed tailgating and speeding on Brunswick Pike at 2:49 a.m. June 7. 

Someone stole three chainsaws and four weed-wackers, valued at $150 each, and a leaf blower, valued at $100, from Terhune Orchards on Cold Soil Road between noon June 2 and 4:30 p.m. June 5. They had been left in an unsecured storage shed. 
