Hillsborough Township police have identified two 17-year-old boys from the township that are suspected of throwing rocks through windows of homes and at cars on Saturday night into Sunday, June 13 and 14, in the township.
Police received a call came at 12:23 a.m. from a resident of Allshouse Street, reporting a rock through a window. Officers searched the area but were unable to find any wrongdoers.
Shortly thereafter, a resident of Wakefern Circle called police to report the same type of incident. No suspects were found.
Throughout the day, eight more residents from various streets throughout the township contacted police to report damage to windows at residences, as well as several vehicles. All told, there were 10 incidents reported on three homes and seven vehicles. During these investigations, a description of a vehicle of a possible suspect was identified, police said.
At about 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Patrolman Christopher Giraldi saw a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle’s description and pulled it over. After investigation and speaking with the two juvenile occupants, he determined they may have been the ones responsible for the acts of criminal mischief from the previous evening.
After paperwork was completed, the youngsters were released to their parents pending charges by the Juvenile Bureau. The incidents are being screened through the juvenile bureau and at this time, there is no time frame for potential charges to be made.
Chief Paul Kaminsky said he commended Officer Giraldi and other officers involved for a job well done.
