CRANBURY — The night sky over Village Park lit up with what many considered a spectacular display of fireworks Sunday night.
Thousands gathered in and around the park starting at 6 p.m. to hear the Mercer Symphonic Orchestra of Mercer County College perform. The fireworks started blasting off at dusk and lasted until 9 p.m.
“We believe in excess of 3,000 individuals attended the event this year which was one of if not the largest gathering to date,” Mayor James Taylor said. “Every year, I continue to hear from residents how wonderful the fireworks are for the town and community and I fully agree. I may be slightly biased, but I firmly believe we have the best fireworks display in the area.”
He continued, “As residents it is important to thank the police, CERT, first aid squad and fire company, public works and township administrator as without them we would not be able to host this event.”
