Michael J. Williams graduated on Sunday, May 10, from the Pennsylvania State University’s Smeal College of Business with a bachelor of science degree in management information systems.
Michael, a 2011 graduate of Hillsborough High School, was a member of the Penn State Blue and White Society and served on the Operations Committee of Penn State’s IFC/Panhellenic dance marathon, known as THON. It is the largest student-run philanthropic organization in the world; its efforts last year raised more than $13 million benefiting pediatric cancer patients, their families and cancer research at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

Degrees were conferred on three Hillsborough residents at the school’s 209th commencement ceremony for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y., on May 30.
Wayne Hung, Daniel Illein and Adam Koehr, all of Hillsborough, all graduated with a bachelor of science degrees in mechanical engineering.
The ceremonies included an address by Admiral Michelle Howard, vice chief of naval operations.

Seven Hillsborough students graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University in commencement exercises on May 19. FDU conferred degrees, ranging from associates to doctorates, on more than 3,000 graduates, at MetLife Stadium.
Graduating from the Florham campus in Madison were:
— Frank Cavaliere, with a bachelor of science degree in business administration;
— Kyle Corsi, with a bachelor of science degree in computer science;
— Melissa Defreest, with a master of arts degree in corporate and organizational communication;
— Alexandra Lombardi, with a master of arts in clinical and mental health counseling, and
— Michael Bruno, with a bachelor of science degree in finance.
Christopher McMinn graduated with a master of science degree in homeland security from FDU’s Metropolitan campus in Teaneck.
Ina Zaionts graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in individualized studies from the Metropolitan campus.

Max Roth of Hillsborough graduated from Rochester (N.Y.) Institute of Technology with a bachelor of science degree in computer science from the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences in the spring semester.

Haley Shein of Hillsborough graduated from Monmouth University, in xx, May. Haley graduated with a bachelor of arts in English and education. She is a member of Kappa Delta Phi international honor society in education and president of the club softball team. She was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester with a GPA of 4.0.
Haley will return to Monmouth in the fall to complete the master’s degree program in special education.

Morgan Shein of Hillsborough graduated from Rutgers University’s Graduate School of Education in May with a masters degree in special education. Morgan graduated with a cumulative GPA of 4.0 and was awarded the Nancy Higginson Dorr Award for her academic achievement.
She is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Kappa Delta Phi and Psi Chi national honors societies. She will be teaching 3rd grade in Flemington-Raritan school district starting in September.
