Hopewell Borough resident Mark Bovenizer has initiated the starter gift to the Hopewell Valley YMCA’s annual support campaign.
This year, the YMCA’s goal is to raise $125,000 by the end of August with $75,000 going to direct aid for local families.
“This is our period of greatest need,” said CEO Doug Pszczolkowski. “Summer camp participation draws our largest demand on financial resources. Each year, more local families are seeking financial assistance to provide enriching summer activities for their children while parents work. Mark and his family have been very generous and consistent supporters for us at the Hopewell Valley YMCA.”
Leading off the YMCA’s concentrated community giving period is significant.
Mr. Bovenizer said, “This gift will impact lives of local youth. I’ve seen the great programs offered by the YMCA. My daughters have enjoyed enrichment and dance classes operated by the Y. It’s really important for our family to support a local cause. The YMCA does so many things in our community, and we’re very proud to donate. I hope our gift inspires others to join me in supporting the YMCA.”
