John S. Cipo

Mr. Cipo, 85, of Millstone Township, died June 29, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. Born in Pennsylvania, he had resided in Morgan for 25 years before moving to Millstone Township 27 years ago. Mr. Cipo was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Millstone Township; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1352, Hopelawn; a graduate of Woodbridge High School, Class of 1941; and had played semi-professional football for the Golden Bears, Newark. Mr. Cipo was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II who served as a technical sergeant and was a tugboat captain in the European Theater of Operations. He was in the electrical inspection business for more than 30 years, serving as both the New Jersey State manager with the Middle Department Inspection Agency, Somerville, and also as the electrical sub-code official for East Windsor Township. During his career he was a member of the International Association of Electrical Inspectors. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Kavchak Cipo; a son and daughter-in-law, John L. and Judy Cipo, Clarksburg; a daughter and son-in-law, Stephen and Irene Cipo, Pottstown, Pa.; a granddaughter, Allison Kopp, Rumson; an a niece, Cynthia Cipo Gallagher, Pottstown. A funeral liturgy was celebrated at St. Joseph’s Church, Perrineville section of Millstone, followed by interment at the parish cemetery.

Sarah E. Kroen

Mrs. Kroen, 71, of Jackson died July 1, 2007, at CentraState Medical Center, Freehold Township. She is survived by five sons; a daughter; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother; and a sister. Arrangements were under the direction of Clayton and McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.

Mary Elodee (McGovern) Dohrmann

Mrs. Dohrmann, 85, of Howell, died June 30, 2007. She was born in Newburgh, N.Y., and had resided in Cranbury for more than 30 years before moving to Whiting and then recently to Howell. A graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, she was a controller at Stewart Air Force Base in New York and a columnist for the Newburgh Star. After moving to New Jersey, Mrs. Dohrmann worked for The McGraw-Hill Cos. prior to retiring. She was a past member of St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Hightstown. She was also a member of American Legion Post No. 148, Hightstown, and a past member of the Jamesburg Elks No. 2180 Ladies Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her husband, William F. Dohrmann Sr., in 1999, and a son, William F. Dohrmann Jr., in 1994. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Robert Wilmer of Hightstown, and Elodee and Edward Hughes of Howell, with whom she lived; four grandsons; twin granddaughters and an honorary granddaughter; six great-grandchildren; and two nieces. Funeral services were held at the Glackin/Saul Funeral Home, followed by interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, both of Hightstown.

Stanley J. Silow

Mr. Silow, 85, of Middletown, died July 6, 2007, at home. He was a lifelong resident of Middletown. He was a letter carrier with the U.S. Postal Service, Middletown, for 30 years. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II during the Pacific Campaign. He was a communicant of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, New Monmouth section of Middletown. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2179, Port Monmouth section of Middletown. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; two daughters and one son-in-law, Nancy and Rick Brancadora of Allentown, and Candy Tsidemidis of Glen Cove, N.Y.; a son, Stanley J. Silow Jr. of Mystic Island; and four grandchildren. A funeral liturgy was held at St. Mary’s Church. Burial was at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Middletown. Arrangements were by John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, Middletown.
