A would-be burglar tried to enter the MJM Designer Shoes store at the Mercer Mall overnight between June 26 and June 27 by tampering with the rear door. No entry was made.
Erin Miles, 22, of Princeton, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and having an expired driver’s license following a motor vehicle stop on Brunswick Pike near Texas Avenue at 2:11 a.m. June 29.
A 2004 Mazda MX3 was reported stolen from the parking lot at Joe’s Crab Shack on Brunswick Pike between 6 p.m. and midnight June 29. The car was recovered July 6 in Hamilton Township.
A 17-year-old Lawrence boy was charged with burglary and theft for taking $60 from an Andrew Drive residence June 30. The victim had left the house for about 10 minutes, between 8:42 a.m. and 8:52 a.m. When she returned, she heard noises and went upstairs to investigate. She discovered the juvenile hiding in a bedroom closet.
Joseph Gray, 55, of Lawrence Road, was charged with driving under the influence and reckless driving at 1:29 p.m. July 1 after a citizen called to report a possible drunk driver. He was stopped by police in the area of Princeton Avenue and Lawrence Road.
A 1999 Chevrolet work van was reported stolen from Glenview Drive overnight between July 2 and July 3. The truck was valued at $1,000, and the tools inside it were valued at $700. The van was unlocked and the key was in the console.
Three cars in the neighborhood, which had been left unlocked, also were entered between July 2 and July 3. Cash and an iPhone were taken from a car parked on Villanova Drive, and a laptop valued at $1,500 was stolen from a Jeep parked on Ohio Avenue. Another car parked on Villanova Avenue was entered, but nothing was missing.
Alan Norcott, 43, of Hopatcong Drive, was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident at 1:40 a.m. July 7 after striking several parked cars in the area of Colonial Lake Drive.
