SOMERSET COUNTY: Electronic waste recycling locations have changed 

Locations to recycle consumer electronic waste (e-waste), free of charge, in Somerset County have changed.
Two faciliites will be available to recycle e-waste Monday through Friday.
Saturday drop-offs will be Sept. 5, Oct. 3, Nov. 7 and Dec. 5 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South County Public Works Garage, 410 Roycefield Road, Hillsborough.
Weekday drop-offs will be Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the North County Public Works Facility, 411 Chimney Rock Road, Building B, Bridgewater, and the South County Public Works Garage, 410 Roycefield Road, Hillsborough.
According to the county, changes in electronic waste recycling are due to market changes, instability with regard to the continuation of manufacturer agreements and pending law modifications.
Materials that will be accepted are computers (desktops and laptops), monitors (cathode-ray tube and flat panel), televisions (cathode-ray tube and flat panel), copiers, digital cameras, DVD players, e-book readers, fax machines, MP3 players, personal digital assistants (PDAs), printers, stereos, radio equipment, VCRs, audio visual equipment, typewriters, camcorders, telephones, cellular phones, circuit boards, modems, telephone mainframes, keyboards, mice, scanners, cables, wiring, power supplies, mainframe equipment and controllers.
No batteries will be accepted. Household batteries may be disposed in the regular trash.
Lithium and rechargeable batteries can be brought to scheduled household hazardous waste drop-off events. Upcoming are ones Sept. 12 in Branchburg and Oct. 24 in Hillsborough.
