Workers from PSE&G were repairing a gas line leak that caused a nearby bank branch to be evacuated on Friday afternoon.
Princeton police were called at 1:49 p.m. to Mount Lucas Road near Cherry Hill Road when a road construction crew accidentally broke a gas line while digging in the area.
Mount Lucas Road was closed between Cherry Hill Road and Jefferson Road while repairs were made. Police said the branch of the Hopewell Valley Community Bank at 11 State Road was closed for a short time as a precaution.
The Princeton Police Department, Princeton Fire Department and the Princeton First Aid and Rescue Squad all responded to the scene. There were no injuries that were reported.
PSE&G responded to the scene to shut off the gas and make repairs.
