Medi-Mart, a medical supply center in East Windsor, has opened a world class, certified mastectomy boutique.
The boutique exclusively sells Amoena International products. Amoena is a world leader in manufacturing breast forms, pocketed bras and lingerie for pre- and post-breast surgery.
The Amoena shop at Medi-Mart is the second of its kind opening in the United States and offers a complete line of specialty bras, breast forms, lounge wear, active wear, swimwear and more.
“We have all the products that will make a woman feel like a woman again,” store owner/operator Bill Chaudhry said.
Mr. Chaudhry and store owner/operator Win Mar Tun held a grand opening on Sept. 30 to celebrate Medi-Mart’s expansion into its new location next to Party Fair in East Windsor Town Center on Route 130 and to bring awareness about the boutique.
Mr. Chaudhry and Ms. Tun wanted the opening to correspond with the beginning of October, which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
“A lot of organizations are working hard to find a cure,” Mr. Chaudhry said.
Medi-Mart’s goal is to make the shopping experience as easy and comfortable as possible with caring female consultants who are experts in mastectomy care.
“A lot of times when women are getting fitted for post-mastectomy products there is no heart, no choice and they get rough treatment,” Mr. Chaudhry said.
While Amoena constructed the boutique portion of the shop, Mr. Chaudhry took special interest in designing an elegant fitting room complete with a chandelier and a red carpet.
“There are floor to ceiling mirrors on both walls and enough room for women to bring their partners, family members or friends so they can try on products and discuss products with no interference. I just want them to have privacy and a peaceful, eye-pleasing, calm environment. Most women are already traumatized so I want to get them the best product that meets their needs,” he said.
Mr. Chaudhry added, “It was my little dream to open this boutique and it came true. We’re giving back to the women who need a woman’s touch.”
Medi-Mart, which has now tripled in size to approximately 3,000 square feet, is a family healthcare and medical supply store with over 20 years’ experience in the industry. Besides the new boutique, the store carries bathroom safety equipment, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, rollators, supports and braces for every body part, blood pressure monitors, diabetic supplies, compression stockings, wound care products, modular ramps, scooters, seat lift chairs and first aid supplies.
During the grand opening celebration, East Windsor Mayor Janice Mironov said, “The new expanded Medi-Mart store carries a very large offering of medical supplies and equipment, providing a convenient local shopping resource to our area residents.”
The mayor said the new location in the Town Center puts the store at a highly visible and accessible location on our vibrant Route 130 corridor, and close to the intersection with Route 571.
“The demonstrated success of the store and the store operators is a tribute to their hard work and business experience, and we wish them much continued success and progress,” Mayor Mironov said.
Medi-Mart works with all insurance companies.
Currently, the store is open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
