Wardlaw-Hartridge announces Third Annual INDIE Film Festival

The third annual Wardlaw-Hartridge School INDIE Film Festival will be held at 6 p.m. on Feb. 24 at the South Orange Performing Arts Center in South Orange.

For the second consecutive year, there will be a ‘red carpet’ event at the venue prior to the film showcase. The students whose films are being presented in the festival will have the opportunity to be escorted from the school to the festival location in limousines and have their pictures taken by members of the local New Jersey press.

The INDIE film competition is open to students in grades 5-12. The long-term goal is to create a festival that includes independent schools, statewide, who compete in various categories and formally celebrate their achievement(s) with a showcase.

Wardlaw-Hartridge is proud to welcome a panel of its own alumni judges who work in the television and film industry: Marc Kornblatt ’72, Jerry Casagrande ’86, Mary McCormack ’87, J. F. Musial ‘ ’04, Lindsay Stevens ’05, Eric Prah ’08 and Ben Chalfin ’08. Awards will be presented for Best Narrative, Best Non-Narrative, Best Director, Best Cinematography and Best Editing. Parents, friends, faculty and staff will join the students at the festival. The entire Wardlaw-Hartridge community looks forward to a night celebrating Arts in Education.
