The Taalim School of Indian Music, Piscataway, recently hosted Indian scholar Pandit Divyang Vakil as part of its weekend lecture series.
Vakil spoke on the philosophy and reality of death. This was a rare lecture event, during which attendees listened to Vakil’s talk for six hours per day over the course of three days. The lecture series was free and open to the public.
Some of the main topics on which Vakil touched included the nature of death, the soul and consciousness. He also talked about the relationship between life and death, religious views on death, funeral traditions and how one prepares for death.
Vakil resides in India, and visits the United States several times a year. The Taalim School regularly hosts Vakil’s workshops, classes and lectures. He speaks on various topics, such as spirituality and music; mantra, tantra and yantra; yoga; philosophical aspects of mystic poetry; and mindful living.
