Camille Anne Curtis of Old Bridge passed away on Jan. 31 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick.
Anne was born in Jersey City on August 17, 1944. She grew up in Parlin and raised her own family there and in South Amboy.
She was the owner of The Gift Basket gift shop in South Amboy and loved arts and crafts, including ceramics, painting, crocheting and needlepoint. For nearly 20 years, she worked as an operator at South Amboy Hospital. When her children were younger, she and her former husband, Jack, were actively involved in the CYO youth sports leagues. For more than a decade, Anne coached the CYO cheerleading squads for Sacred Heart Parish, South Amboy.
In recent years, she devoted much of her time to her grandchildren, Jon, Em and Meg, who love and miss their “Nannie.”
She is survived by her two loving sons, John and his wife, Denise, of Woodbridge, and Brian and his wife, Karen, of Milltown; her three grandchildren, Jonathan, Emilyn and Meghan; her brother, Joe and his wife, Erna, of Denville; and a large, extended family with many loving cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and grand-nieces.
She was predeceased by her parents, Donato and Julia Visceglie; her sisters, Adeline and Doris; and her brother, Walter.
A memorial service at Sacred Heart Church, 531 Washington Ave., South Amboy, will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 27. Private burial will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Anne’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
