The fashion show ended the weeklong celebration, which also included events such as bowling, hula hoop, karaoke contests and sport-themed activities for the residents.

Held at the Parker at Landing Lane Residence in New Brunswick, the show featured 17 dogs strutting their stuff in raincoats, fancy dresses and costumes, before interacting with the residents. Volunteer Amy Lavine, who was recently nominated Volunteer of the Year by the New Jersey Activity Professionals Association, showed off Chloe, her 5-year-old Pomeranian, who was a hit in a nurse’s uniform.

“Year after year, this event is a favorite among residents, families and volunteers,” said Candice Avila, director of recreation for Parker Home. “We are thrilled to be able to provide such a fun and interactive experience while also enriching quality of life.”
