The Tinton Falls Community Gardens will be open for spring gardening in a few short weeks, and would like to invite applications from area residents. Now in its seventh season, the Tinton Falls Community Gardens (TFCG) added a second location last spring on Water Street, in the historic district of Tinton Falls. The initial TFCG garden, which was launched in 2010, is located behind the Crawford House on Tinton Avenue.
The development of the new garden is taking place during several phases. Last year’s inaugural season included 12 initial plots, each measuring approximately 4’ x 16’. Additional plots are made available as needed, with several new sections of the garden to be open for 2016.
Members of the TFCG may range from beginners to experienced gardeners, and tend their own plots as well as help to maintain the overall garden area. The season at both locations runs from April 1 until Nov. 15, and fees range from $20-$25 annually depending upon the size of the plot.
